Game Information

Ghostbusters The Video Game, the playable sequel to the smash hit motion picture franchise, comes to six game platforms in Summer 2009. Coinciding with the 25th anniversary celebration of the film’s original theatrical release, the game reunites original cast members to recapture the unique blend of laughs, scares, and action that rocketed Ghostbusters into the realm of pop culture classics.

Penned by original Ghostbusters creators Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, Ghostbusters The Video Game reunites the original team for the first time in 20 years: Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Annie Potts recreate their roles in an original story set two years after Ghostbusters II, with Manhattan once again overrun by ghosts and supernatural forces.

Players join the team as the Ghostbusters’ newly hired Experimental Equipment Technician to track, smash, and trap ghosts to save New York from its latest supernatural plague. Simultaneously fun, funny, and scary, Ghostbusters The Video Game targets a wide audience with adjustable difficulty and mass-market gameplay appeal.

  • Authentic & playable: for the first time ever, players can thrill to the real experience of joining the original Ghostbusters team. Every aspect of gameplay and story is bona fide Ghostbusters, guaranteed by the original creators
  • Unique Gameplay: Experience new but weirdly 'accurate' ghost wrangling and trapping with upgradeable equipment in wildly destructible environments and large-scale arena fights
  • Massive Destruction & Physics: Any real Ghostbusters experience results in a lot of collateral damage, and that requires serious physics simulation and environmental interaction. Ghostbusters the Video Game delivers in spades.
  • Multiplayer: While the single-player portion of the game focuses on storytelling through the eyes of the Recruit, Multiplayer recreates the jobs and distress calls Ghostbusters answer. Players can take the roles of all their favorite Ghostbusters and work as a team to rid New York of pesky supernatural beings.
